Script to display links like at top of Gmail inbox?

I'm looking for a script that will allow me to place links at the top of the page that fade out and change at a set interval, and also allow the user to scroll forward and backward through the links. I figure this is pretty simple to do but I just can't figure out how to do it. Any help?
