I thought it would be fun to go back in time and see what great domains looked like way back when. This is how Toys.com looked like in 1996. It sold in 2009 for $5,100,000. BAM!!!

Please join in if you would like and post some screenshots. :)

Google in 1998. Funny thing is that it doesn't look much different now. :)

Since we are going back to 1996 let's put it in perspective. Kobe was just drafted out of high school. Tupac was on the cover of Rolling Stone magazine. Jennifer Aniston was hot as hell and we were all talking on a Motorola flip phone. LOL :)

Business.com screenshot from 1996. In 1999 domain investor Marc Ostrofsky sold the domain Business.com for $7.5 million to eCompanies, which was listed in the Guinness book of world records for what was at the time the most expensive domain name ever sold, Ostrofsky owned a stake in Business.com which was sold in 2008 for $345 million. He coined the phrase "Domain names and web sites are the real estate of the Internet" when he bought Business.com for $150,000 in the mid 1990s, which had been the most money ever paid for a domain name at the time.
