domain screach.com

Would someone mind giving me some ideas for the use of the domain name screach.com and also an estimated opinion of value, if any. I have come up with everything from owls, bird noises, to auto related to an abbreviation for scientific research and chemicals, chemistry or chemists..I know this is the wrong way to go about buying a domain name, but was trying out different ideas for the select few one word domains left that are generic..this was available so i took it....sounds stupid i know..but go easy if you can. Thanks for any feedback.

The main problem is that 'screach' is not a word. If you developed a site with this name, you'd lose half of your potential traffic to the correct spelling: screech. Because of this, there is no real resale value to this name.

Humm...about as a figured, but I thought screach was a word....isn't screach owl spelled s-c-r-e-a-c-h instead of scr-e-e-ch? oh well...

yah, I know...but there are a lot of places with references to "Screach" owl..spelled that way instead of screech....anyway, not really worried about it..i can eat the reg. fee it cost me..no biggie...just wandering if something could be done...got my answer. If something amazing happens and it sells, i'll follow up here. Thanks :hehe:

I don't think losing people to typing it the right way would be as bad as people think.

Screach.com could be branded, it'd be hard, but it could be branded. If I saw a cool logo and the content was great, I'd easily remember to spell it that way (and I'd like to think of myself as pretty normal)

RegFee and McDomains....I like to think I am pretty normal too...and I agree with both of you..i had actually thought of South Carolina Reach, so I am not alone there and I had also thought I could actually benefit from the typos...not that I pick domains for that reason...but this name sort of works out that way...the typo thing can work both ways if the "true" spelling gets a lot of hits, there are always a certain number that mispell...thinking beyond the obvious sometimes makes for a good branding as well...previous opinions made me feel i was wrong with my own thoughts, so it's good to see other people out there could relate...all may not be lost

You should try it and let us know the result. I have my doubt.

I have never bought any typos yet (I know some people have success) because most of my correctly spelled domains don't even have much traffic let alone the typos.

I wouldn't try it for the typos angle...I just don't think the spelling would be ALL bad for the name. I do think it could be marketed though (by someone smarter than me). It is a farily short one word name, easy to remember..SCREACH with and A :yell:

Awesome name, this domain could easily be turned into pretty much anything. I think this domain would be perfect for a general entertainment, humour website.
