Hi

I recently got an e-mail offer for one of my domain names and I am not sure if it is a scam or not:

This is the e-mail I received:

from: intellectualproperty@ikkatsu-jp(dot)info
Subject: Offer to buy mydomainname(dot)com

"Hello!

I represent a businessman from Japan who wants to purchase mydomainname(dot)com for his new web project.

The buyer is a professional investor with a good budget.

Are you still interested in selling?

I located your contact information via whois search.

If you have more names please email me the list.

Best Regards,

Kazumi Ishikawa

Name Broker

Intellectual Property Specialist

IKKATSU Hosting Ltd."

As you can see, nothing weird at first site, but I was wondering what do you think about it considering that the domain name is not necessarily very valuable according to estibot.

Many thanks!

Oh and I forgot to say that at the time I received the email (SCAM) my domain was already listed on Sedo and Flippa, with a "crappy looking" parking page, with all the pricing infos.

For FAAAAAAAR less than $15,000, and not even a chance to "mistake" the numbers!

Except if they are blind of course...

Sorry for not posting earlier. It was the same with me, I put the domain for auction on Flippa.

I decided to reply him asking for an offer and he sent me the same mail. "Buyer is willing to pay up to $15,000 etc..." I replied with "not interested in selling anymore, sorry". He never contacted me afterwards.

Just reply with a BIN price (don't be greedy), if they ask for a appraisal it's scam.
