China's State Administration of Radio, Film and Television has released an advisory on the punishment faced by online TV stations and video websites which run online programs without the government's approval or sell online advertisements with fake government documents.
According to relevant Chinese rules, these online TV and video stations will be fined between RMB10000 and RMB30000 and the owners may face other administrative penalties.

are just a few of illegal online video websites that SARFT has named. SARFT says that these illegal online TV stations carry online broadcasting without being approved by the concerned propaganda or cultural departments, and some of them have already set up sub-stations and reporter stations which release information and news.
SARFT says that each of its affiliates must not cooperate with any of these illegal online TV stations by any means or invite them to attend any form of media activity. Also, it asks that all broadcasting institutions and publications not to report on these online stations or provide platforms for their information release.

I am so surprised today to see this news from the most popular Chinese news portal www.sina.com.cn. I am also so surprised that 4 out of 7 these illegal TV stations use .tv.
Major Chinese News Medias reported this and this gave great exposure of .tv.
