Hey guys  ,

I acquired this domain name.

This is an Icelandic domain name but it does show up in North American Google searches.

http://www.google.ca/search?q=sale.is

The domain consists of two actual words (very SEO friendly).

"Sale is" keywords receive 185 million global and 83 million local Monthly searches on Google alone.

(see http://sale.is for my little sales pitch)

I am just curious what the worth of this Domain is and what you think it will be in 5-10 years once Icelandic domain's become less available.

I believe this domain has a huge potential.

All comments are welcome.

Thank you

Hi,

It's a nice name, but only value is to hold it long term and/or develop in the interim.

I suspect those Google search volumes were for broad, not exactly matches.

Since It's a iceland domain I'd say $100 - $200 range, I don't see other use

Well, any domain can and should be indexed in Google, even the worst extension, or subdomains. Being indexed is the bare minimum, ranking is another matter.

Domain hack you mean. But as a domain hack it doesn't make sense. Sale is... what ?

I am familiar with this extension.

First of all, Iceland is a very small market (pop. 320,000) and presently there are fewer than 40,000 domains registered. There is no shortage of 'good' keywords. Not now nor in the predictable future.

It's an English keyword sot it has limited interest on the local market. But it's still a mainstream keyword. So I guess it could be used for an e-shop of some sort. But it would have to be related to Iceland in some way, otherwise why register in a ccTLD. Just because most other extensions are taken ? That doesn't make it more valuable or desirable.

The fact that it was still available could be a sign that until then nobody thought it was worth buying for โ‚ฌ39. I don't think it will sell easily.
Remember that it is a ccTLD, outside the host country it has limited value if any. You won't find many buyers outside Iceland, and within Iceland proper the market is extremely narrow as well

TI believe this domain has a huge potential.
I don't but it's just me :xf.love:
IMO develop, or don't keep it. Don't expect a sale that will most likely never come.

Thanks for the feedback guys.

The weird thing is that if you put "sale.is" in google keywords it will see it as if you simply typed in the word "sale"

Im always open for more feedback ;)
