S-k-y-p-e error

I removed the old version of s-k-y-p-e 4.1 in my PC to download a newer version (5.1-5.5) of it since I cannot get the share screen feature to others I am communicating with. Now as I have downloaded the new one an error is appearing saying this: "Failed to get proc address for D3DPERF_SetOptions (d3d9.dll)". Much worst now is that I cannot even re-download and use my previous version and any version of it in my PC. Can someone explain to me what can be the problem is? I am using windows XP. Any valuable suggestions and inputs will be greatly appreciated. Tons of thanks

Did you ever hear about Google?

I just typed:D3DPERF_Setoptions(d3d9.dll) and the first result is:

Failed to Get Proc Address for D3DPERF_Setoptions(d3d9.dll)

If you have experienced Failed to get proc address for D3DPERF_Setoptions(d3d9.dll) when you are using Windows XP professional during Skype connection then the following steps are meant for you.

NB: Nothing is corrupted and you don't need to download any DLL file(s) nor run registry cleaner to solve the problem.

STEP I

Uninstall the Skype you installed before. Probably it's the latest with is above your system requirement

STEP II

Download Skype old version 4. To do that Google on Skype version 4 and download it. You can also quickly download it from the link http://www.filehippo.com/download_skype/

STEP III

Install it and run the program the error message will not appear again.

The solution is as simple as that.
