If you'd like an insight to how the backend is going to be...
1. Homepage
News System
- Display just one news item – cut-off post after a few paragraphs.
- ‘Read More’ link to go to /news/ where all past news items can be viewed in full.
- Title/Post/Author/Date and Time Posted
- Users must be registered in order to comment on news, else they are presented with a ‘you must register to access…blah’ message.
Live Feeds
- Self-update in real time without the need for refreshing via Ajax.
- Display a maximum of 10 feeds at once.
Categories
- Show the top 10 most popular categories by amount of feeds they have.
- ‘View all’ link going to /categories where all categories will be displayed.
2. Registration
- Name (to be used for newsletter purposes?)
- Email address
- Username
- Password
- Password Verification
- Blog URL (Optional)
- Blog Feed URL (Optional)
- Subscribe to our newsletter? (Checkbox)
3. Live Feeds Page
- Display 25 Latest Feeds.
- Date/time posted, Title, Source.
- Clickable to full post on the RSSFruit website.
4. Login Page
- Username/password
- ‘Forgot password?’ feature – clickable so that an Ajax form opens with an input box for the users email address.
5. Members Area
- Change password/email feature.
- Manage my feeds (change category etc)/add a feed/delete a feed.
- Members should receive daily feeds via email from within the categories that interest them (they can choose in their member’s area). Email format:
Hello [Member Name],
Here are your daily subscribed feeds for [date]:
[Feeds here – html title]
Regards,
RSSFruit – Witty slogan here
6. Recommendation Page
- When a user is logged in they may insert the email of a friend to send a predefined email to them. ‘[Member name] has recommended RSSFruit…’
