Hi,

A few questions here, and please explain in layman's terms as I am an unemployed sales rep, and not an IT guy who knows all of the jargon. First off where is the best place to park my good domains to get them to gain value? I have read all of this talk about ageing and increasing value of domains. Are there better places to park domains than others, or should you focus on creating a quality webpage to go on your domain? Second off, where is the best place to back-order domains? I read that you do not want to focus hand registering. Why the fu** not??? Isn't the whole idea here to think up something that someone hasn't thought of yet and sell someone on that catchphrase or made up word?! Look at Rolex, ebay, basically all of the household TMs out there? If not where is the best place to back-order registered domains in case they are dropped? Third, should I bother investing in .co and .asia? Are these the upcoming trends? P.S. don't tell me to get out of the business either, because looking at that ticker above me, and how much these idiotic names are going for, just makes me more hungry. I made a $50 profit and now I am hooked, even though I suck at it still. Please bring your knowledge to the table if you actually know what you are talking about. However, if you are mediocre in the avocation and are going to provide insipid reciprocation please bite your tongue. Domain Illuminati speak up, and set me straight here.

It has to be most popular question, along with "what's the best place for selling domain ?" Answer: it depends (on the domains).
If your domains have no traffic they are not good candidates for parking.

No, it's much too late for that. You can't build a healthy portfolio on handregs now.
Names like Rolex and Google are just brandable names. As such they have no built-in value. They have been developed, advertised and branded heavily. The value stems from the development and business efforts. The original (primeval) domain is nothing special but is backed by billions of dollars in branding.
What makes you think you have the next Google in your domain portfolio ? The odds of winning the lottery are much higher.
BTW Google bought their domain for $500 back in 1997...

Third, should I bother investing in .co and .asia?
If you have money to burn. Do your homework, see what extensions do sell...

P.S. don't tell me to get out of the business either, because looking at that ticker above me, and how much these idiotic names are going for, just makes me more hungry.
Statistically that means little to your bottom line.
The majority of domainers are losing money chasing dreams.

However, if you are mediocre in the avocation and are going to provide insipid reciprocation please bite your tongue.
Ouch that hurts :yell:
