If its just the screen you might be able to get a screen replacement try ebay.

Ive done with a mobile phone so i dont see why you cant with your ipod.

i dropped a digital camera like to your ipod :S
i tried to repair it it will cost me 70% of its price so i got a brand new one
if you can find a cheap screen on ebay it would be great else .....

Going to ring apple sometime and see if they replace screens.

Still under warranty? My 1st gen iPod broke the first time I traveled with it. Apple was super cool about it. I filed a claim online, they sent a postage paid box to me and replaced it within a matter of days.
