Ok, I'll begin by saying what I'm advertising for sale here is all rights to the script. Currently no-one else owns any resell rights to the script, as I've had it developed myself. I would surrender all rights to the script if bought at the full price ($2100).
If I still had the website up and working, I would have a much easier job of selling the rights. I also created a specific sales page for the script at countryonsale.com as I have the product listed at ClickBank. There I included some testimonials from people who had already bought the script. There were comments such as 'amazing script', 'great product' etc.
I previously had the demo site at
www.countryonsale.com. I had 'sold' some countries there to myself and added info as an example of what a page looks like when bought. I don't use the demo sites to sell countries to the public, its simply not what they're for. That is why I set the prices so high on the demo. I'm sure if I reduced the prices I would get some sales though.
I'm not going to say this script is going to be record breaking, and never have done. But I know it has a lot of potential and there is a market for it. My initial market research was based on the sales of pixel scripts, the thing which is most similar to my script. The most popular script was probably Million Pixel Script from texmedia.de. The owner of texmedia, Markus, made a killing from his Million Pixel Script, even though its retail price is almost $180. My previous market research was not actually intended to be that. I started
www.buyacountry.net, a country with the same concept as my script. That site was entirely HTML and didn't have an admin panel or automated buying system. Yet following a small ad campaign, I sold $100 worth of countries in two weeks - not bad for a new site. The site also sneaked into the top 100,000 of Alexa at one point. Remember, this was when the site was only a month or so old. When I was marketing BuyACountry, I had quite a few people get in touch because they wanted to buy the script. This was the start of CountryOnSale. But at that time, someone else owned the rights to the script (back then a basic HTML site) and I managed to buy all rights to the script for $600. Then started the script development. In about 2 weeks, the infrastructure of the script had been implemented. Anyway, I won't go into the script development too much.
Regarding your other questions:
Who are the target groups? Well, obviously, for the script, potential customers include website owners and those looking for a quick way to get a website started. This could be anyone - once pixel scripts started becoming widely available many people got one and started pixel sites.
Why should investors purchase a country? Firstly, I'd called them webmasters/advertisers, not investors, as they're not buying something with the view of making money. But to answer your question they'd buy a country because they wanted to try a new way of advertising their website. It worked with pixel advertising and while its unlikely a 'spin-off' from pixel advertising will ever be as successful as the original thing, people are willing to try new forms of advertising. Added to this, the online advertising market is one which will only get bigger. It is expected this year to be a $31 Billion industry.
I don't really understand your last question. When you talk about 'investors' do you mean people buying countries to advertise or the thing I'm selling here? Because advertisers do not by countries as investments, nor am I offering people a chance to invest in anything. Please expand on what you mean there, and I'll be happy to answer your questions.
Finally (

), what do you mean I'm only offering a visual platform? This thread was started because I want to sell all rights (ie. master resell rights) to this script, CountryOnSale V1.2. I no longer have the time to run this business currently, although if I don't end up selling rights I will probably wait until I have the time to continue selling the script.
Please, if you have further questions or wish for me to expand on any of the above points, just say.
Oh, forgot about revenue income. Like I've said above, in order to provide paypal screenshots I'd have to trawl through 3-4 months worth of history, take screenshots and then black out all private and unrelated information. But I ask you, why would I lie about the revenue made? I'm not like that.
Total revenue so far has been $1023. I've sold 17 scripts, but please not all of the revenue has been from script sales. As I've said above, I will provide a breakdown of revenue to all potential buyers of rights, but am not going to simply post that info. PM me if you are a serious buyer and would like a breakdown of income.
