domain Resim.ca & .ca's in general

I bought resim.ca because it was estibot appraised at $5.7K but I have no idea what resim is although it it gets 37 million search results in Google! Just wanted to know what you thought what it is worth and how I market it!

Side question: what are your thoughts on .ca domains... are the worth buying?

A google search for "resim" does have 37 million plus results but at least from the first page it looks like a word in a language probably not so many people speak in Canada. So not worth the reg fee imho.

As far as .ca names, I think there a lot of value in the premium names. Just remember it is a country code extension and the population is not that large. So keep it short and simple and stick to their language(s). Which I believe is mostly English and then French.

resim means picture/photo in turkish..

This a pretty strong name if you can get into the right community. Most photographers from that community would probably love it.

For this name I would concentrate on the Turkish communities of Toronto, Hamilton and Montreal, they are the largest concentrations. Find the local community centres see if there are any community business publications you can advertise the name in. There's also a number of annual Turkish festivals in most cities.

Before you do this, check for any TM's as there is a company from London ON with the same name.

Set your asking price in the $300 - $500 range + you costs if you want a quick sale. Maybe double if you're prepared to reject low offers for a few years.

Wish I'd paid attention to it in yesterday's drop.

One last thought: If you're going to value keywords, the results from a google search aren't as important as the number of searches for that keyword. In this case straight search metrics don't mean much.

Reseller value would likely be low to mid $xx.
