Type of Contest : Website
Prize : $150! (Paypal)
Contest End Date & Time : 1PM GMT : April 18th 2007
Size Requirements : Full width!! I want a ton of space for content!
Color Requirements : Read Below

What Sites I like:
http://www.realballers.com
http://msn.foxsports.com/nba (except using the whole browser I hate white spaces on the side)

General Requirements :
These sites are sports sites. NFL, NBA, and MLB. I want to use this template and be able to change the banner, and the with CSS change the colors to each one to match team colors easily.

Here is one of our sites(so you can see why we need change): www.celticsnews.com

As you can see everything is CLUTTERED. There is no room to maneuver anywhere and add other content. I also have Divs and Frames on there and I don't want those at all on these.

On the homepage I need:

An Image for the main story. With space for a small description.
Small spot for other images and descriptions for previous storys and blogs.
A news feed for spot for the latest news.
A spot for small mix video for youtube..a small one not normal video size.
A spot for a small wallpaper previews, maybe in a scroll bar?
I want a GOOD spot for a google ad to maximize profit earnings.
I need a decently big spot for our text link advertisers. If you go to that celtics site you'll see how I have them and how many...I need it to be better then than that as I want them get seen and clicked for them.
I need a row on the site very visible to go to other team sites. Please refer back to celticsnews.com(on right side) and see how I have text links up of Atlanta Hawks/Boston Celtics and so on for every team in the league. I want the sites to all have that and that is important.

Navigation:
I don't want image navigation. I want to be able to edit and change it and add more to it in the future if I need to. Right now I want:
Home
Forum
Blog
Roster
Schedule
Standings
Tickets
Affiliates
Contact

Additional Information : Please make sure its setup so it will be easy to edit the images and colors in mind to use as a template to all of my sites. I want something clean, catchy yet professional. Please remember to use the full page like the realballers site does. If you code the template or are able to code the template, it could make a big difference in picking you if it's close in picking one. If you won't code it for free if you win and can code, please state an additional cost you'd want to code it when selected. if you can;t code..thats fine..still submit your entries!

If you have any questions regarding this please ask. I am hoping for a lot of interest!

P.S You can probably do the Celticsnews.com site as main template and then I will know where the colors and stuff will go.

SaDesigns - As I said, really like your new design. It doesn't have any wow factor, but it's simple and it's good for adding a lot of content. Much better then your first one though! How would coding work..free? If not how much?

Epic- Way to simple man, just looks like a default blog template.

JanineXD- Thanks for the effort. It's way to image based though, and that's what i'm trying to get away from.

jg2000- Also a bit to imaged based, however it's better then the other one. I just like 2 or 3 of the other ones better.

thesilverblade - awesome. Similar to SAdesigns, great for content. very nice and clean layout! Seems like it's be easy to plugin different colors as well for the other sites!

Good job guys! Anybody else gonna give this a go?

Thanks for the feedback. It's difficult to make anything too complex when you don't want many images at all and want lots of room for content.

You seem to be preferring a standard width, PHP-nuke-looking 3 column design. Would you like me to try again with something like that?

thanks for the feedback although I don't see how my submission is any more image based than the ones you like. If anything it's less, it uses the same images everyones else uses and if I took the header image out it should be exactly what you're looking for. It's all subjective.

Does colors should be green or it's custom?

Beautiful man. Exactly what I was looking and asking for. There is a little flare in there, with CSS Colors, not images. Easy changeable colors. Easy changeable banner. I love the main story placement, the google ad placement, and the team sites placement. And the nav bar as well. Just like it overall, seemed to give me exactly what I was looking for.

With that said, I have come up with 1, possibly 2 changes.

1. My one change would be on the left hand side with the ticket links. I don't want each link to have it's own column section, I would like them to be divided into sections for each company if possible..so different little sections. If you could do this change for me i'd be appreciative. I'm not sure how i'd go about doing it while keeping with the theme honestly, but I would liek to keep everything else the same.

2. I know this wasn't requested, but with your particular layout I think it'd look great. Would it be possible to add a top little sectioned bar to the site? If you go here: http://www.angelsnews.com/roster.php you can see my sad attempt at the top of the page to make a drop down menu and top bar. I would like to be able to have a few drop down sections like the link I showed ya. I can add them myself if it's started with a few. Then maybe a tiny search thing to the right end like namepros has at the top right? This would fit in with the same type of design and colors. I would prefer it to be as small as humanly possible with small text as well. The namepros top is a good example as I said.

The 2nd change is optional as I understand if you can't but it would go a long way for me :). The first one though is kind of a must, I need that to fit in with the sites content.

Thanks a lot for the entry though, very nice work!

Anybody else planning an entry?

It's better, bout as good as you can get it with your setup, so can;t really give you feedback to improve on it as I like it. But I still have Butler's a little ahead. If there was a 2nd place though, you'd have it. Good work though.

Also know for everybody..I always need projects done..and those who participate in this contest will be the first ones I ask when I need a design done to show my appreciativeness for entering!

Entry #1 with New Revisions

+ The drop-down menu is CSS (tested in Firefox & IE7)
+ The search box is just a picture (still having problems with styling it)
+ The links boxes have been split up - let me know if I should make changes.

I hope to have the searchbox completed tonight.

WizardsTalk.com Concept

(This should show how versatile the template is.)
