REQ-Logo โ€“ Logo for Value First Management Pty Ltd - $20
Type of Contest: Logo Design

Prize: $20 PayPal + 10 if changes needed to logo after contest ends

Contest End Date & Time: Nov 26, 2009, 6:00 PM PST

Size Requirements: The logo must look good on an invoice and since size is allways changing vector would be the best

Color Requirements: There are no strict colour requirements just nothing to out there, since this has to look professional. It can be colour but it still has to look good in black and white since not all buisness print out invoices in colour.

General Requirements: This is a logo for a buisness that does a wide varity of things and so the logo should be text only and say Value First Management Pty Ltd. You can change the size and font of each word if it looks better. "Pty Ltd" should be in there but really small.

An example of a simple text logo is BeeGraphic

hi josephine

thanks for the entry i really like the second one and is it possible if you could slightly modiefy that one, with diffrent fonts and colours and then we can see if that works better. but pleasle do that at the start of next month

IM PUTTING THIS COMPETITION ON HOLD TILL 1ST DECEMBER

becuase i have used all my bandwitdth for this month and am now running at and excrusatingly slow speed of 64 kb per sec and it takes ages to see peoples entries so ill wait till nex month and when i can start accuratly giving feedback to entries

The reason why it takes ages is because both designers decided to use jpg files instead gif files. In an image with no gradients and lots of solid big spaces like here, gif is a no brainer. When there are more than 256 colours or when alpha transparency is needed then jpg or png can be chosen.

I bet instead 700kb or 500kb those images would be under 50kb if gif was used.

Another thing is designers can put the url of the image instead the image itself, so you can save them on your computer and they wont load together with this page.

If I were any of these designers I would change my file to a gif image.

I just tested Ookie's 700KB JPG image becomes 25KB in gif format. This is 28 times smaller.

I don't understand why somebody would put there an entry that is 700KB in file size. Check my last few entries. They are huge and they have lots of different designs on them but the file size is only around 100KB.

On photoshop chose file/save for web and then experiment with file formats.

thanks erdinc

but i prefer if the designers have the image in there post it gives me more oversight and the image size isnt my problem its that it takes like 1 minute to load the reply to thread page and so i usually give up.

ill just wait till december to resume this

thanks everyone
