gardline: thanks but i was hoping for something more than just a single font type with no images. maybe the "LA" in a different font or a "$" for the "Save"? i would also like the font to look more professional than cartoonish.

j-man: thank you also. i like the idea of the buildings but was hoping for something less cartoonish and more specific to LA. maybe a subtle sillouhette of an LA skyline or palm trees? I would like the letters "LA" to stand out though with a different font type.

i realize i stated no gradients for the purpose of reproducing on b&w ads but if you need to use them and can make it work that would be ok too. i appreciate your entries and i apologize to both of you if i wasnt specific enough in my description. please feel free to contact me if you have any more questions...

Jamil i like the shopping bag with the dollar sign on it. i see how it can be simple and effective with the red bag which is eyecatching. it just seemed a little big for the text though and the font seemed a little plain. since there is already a dollar sign on the bag the "$" in save could just be fine as a regular "S".

Dessano I really think you captured the idea of what im trying to respresent. I liked the 2 designs with the "save" on top. i also like the green ".com" which brings to mind thoughts of money. is there a way to keep these designs the way they are but just make the "LA" stand out apart from the "IN" so it doesnt look like "INLA" is one word? maybe a using lower case like "$aveinLA" (or 2 different sizes capital lettering)... or a different font... or different outline color... or solid lettering or anything else you think of?

thank you for your entries.

i realize the contest ended yesterday but we like a couple of the designs and are having difficulty deciding what to do. would it be ok to award a first prize at $50 along with a second prize (maybe even 2) at a lower amount?

ps
thank you everyone for your entries

Considering that that is extending your original prize offer of $50.00 - and a/or runner(s) up, now have a chance to win a prize. I myself don't see anything wrong with that. "Quite nice actually!"
