Thanks for your entry. Good start.

I don't really like the slogan, but I think having one is a good idea. I will try and think of one and post it later, and people are welcome to add slogans as part of their entry.

In terms of the overall look, I would like to highlight the principle of rakeback more. The basic idea is that people playing online poker, pay rake, which is a % of the pot. This is paid to the casino as their profit. Rakeback is a system which allows the player to earn some of this back again. Normally 30% - 40%

Hope that explains things better.

Looking good so far. I'll follow up with proper notes tomorrow, getting pretty late here now.

Just to note that sharkrake is an offshoot of my site at: http://www.sharkstaking.com/

If possible I would like to in some way reflect that logo. Possibly by nothing more than using a similar, or the same font as the base. I believe the font is verdana.

Great work so far, especially catfish and unxca. I'm not really a fan of the cartoony stuff, sorry jtoms :(

I like the lettering on the 2nd version of yours umxca, but not too keen on the club and chips emblem. I think the earlier chip was better. Maybe that would work better with the fin from the sharkstaking.com site worked in somehow. I can provide a High res copy of the fin if needed.

Overall everything definatly needs to pop off the page a lot more than it is right now, but the comp is underway for sure!

Some great work here guys. Looking good. Something is still missing though, Can't really put my finger on it, but something still isn't popping off the screen the way I would like.

For the slogan. Unless someone comes up with something better I am looking at a slightly edited version of what I posted earlier.

Get Rakeback - Get Coaching - Get Staked

I think that will sit better from a design point of view also as it is more concise.

I forgot to add.

This logo will be displayed against a dark grey or black background, so the lettering etc need to be red, white, lighter greys to contrast that.

Some good concepts going on here but overall it seems really unfocused to be honest. It would need tightening up a lot to be a contender.

thanks ^^

The first of these three is currently my favorite entry, I would love to see some over versions of it. In particular some way of conceptualising the 'getting rake back' feature which is the over-riding concept. Not sure if adding a poker chip, poker cards, card suit or whatever to is somehow would be overkill. But this would be nice to see also.

So. I am am going to take a look at the two front runners right now. My likes and dislikes for both are pretty similar:

What I like: Both are clean and sharp. In the first the colour scheme doesn't work but this is easily changed. The colour scheme in the second is correct. I will need to confirm the exact background colour of the website, but it will be black/dark grey/dark brown.

The "Get Rakeback - Get Coaching - Get Staked" tagline fits both well also. I will still offer a $10 bonus to anyone who can improve on it though.

What I don't like: Apart from the possibility of minor colour scheme changes both logos are still a little too simple and standard overall. I like them, but neither are really popping off the page. I would love something that shouts original. Sorry that isn't very specific. But basically, keeping the sharp and simple look, but with something else that adds depth is what I am after. As I said above suitable subjects are poker, playing cards, poker chips, playing card suits and the shark fin.

I will likely also be employing the winner of this competition to provide the art for an animated section to sit under the website header. Obviously it would work better if the artist has the coding/animation skills but this can be done seperatly also if the right person lacks the coding skills.

I am also looking for someone who can create a CSS style sheet template to use on the site which would fit in with the overall look. See this post for more info on the overall job: http://www.namepros.com/web-develop...omeone-who-has-designed-site.html#post3981372
