[REQ-LOGO] $50-$75 Logo Contest - Excellent Host - Vector/PSD/Professional Look

Hello everyone,

We're looking for a professional logo style that matches our upcoming design launch for Excellent Host .com [**remove space between 'excellent' and 'host', just inserted them for search engine protection; .com not needed**], a provider that will build on the expertise and solid reviews we have with PolurNET.

Type of Contest : Logo Design, preference for vector format (Adobe Illustrator). PSD also fine

Prize : $50 Minimum, but up to $75 for astonishing logos. Payment via PayPal ONLY. ***Full logo source files, all fonts, and other design elements must be provided upon acceptance***

Contest End Date & Time : Tentatively set for February 10, 2007. This contest may also end any time before or after the due date, depending whether requirements were met in time.

Size Requirements : Must match the following website look:

Color Requirements : See above preview; red, teal, light orange should all work nicely

General Requirements : Must be original, have unique icon/logo next to text that represents the hosting company. No stock photos please. Preferably AI format for easy resizing. We'd like to decorate the logo for special events (eg. xmas, halloween, etc.) in future, so leave room for that. Text & logo should also follow a web 2.0 look, but don't necessarily overdo the effects.

Add slogan: "[ExcellentHost] there's only one!"

Additional Information : Specific comments will be provided, but there may be delays in response due to time constraints.

Hi mrpsycho,

I really like the second version again, and is one of two favorites in this contest up until now!

Can you show me a preview of how it would look on the page? Also, can you try one modification for the "X" part; instead of a disconnected pixelated line, try something more smooth (like ribbons) and see how that turns out. Also if you can add a little more style/curvature on the tails to make it more apparent as an "X", since it looks a bit odd on first glance

This is definitely my other favorite choice so far together with mrpsycho's, so we are considering both at this point. Yours is professional, clean and crisp. Can you stylize the "X" a little, like adding a curves to its feet? Also, do you think you can add perhaps a subtle star or some other icon near the 3 curves that would add more uniqueness and identity to the logo?

I love the stars, but don't like the 'X'. I think you need to try the other way, i.e. the end points of the X curve more. Here's a really quick example of what i mean: http://img443.imageshack.us/img443/5216/eh2sd3.jpg

Also, can you show the preview of how it looks on the page? I think we're missing some dark red as the page is primarily in that color, not blue. Try changing one of the colors on the logo to match the page design (show multiple color styles if possible)

Finally, I forgot to mention that you need to add the slogan... please add one with appropriate fonts so that we can see how it looks.

I don't like the ribbon version, looks 'devlish' if you know what I mean. Instead, can you work on the pixelated version and make the part near the center of the 'x' closer together or nearly a ribbon; here's quickly what I mean:

Also, if you can think of a way to make the 'x' more curved on the edges, I think that can make it more apparent as the letter 'x'. If you can, make different versions so I can decide

I like the red version very much, but I'm interested to see a preview with the blue one as well. Think you can add a bevel or other effect on the 3 lines to make it standout more? It's hard to notice the aqua-style on the main text too, if you can just try to increase it a little, that would be great

I like both the grey/red pixelated version and your first new version with the curved line going through the whole text. You're missing a "c" though (excellenthost), so add that back in I think I

For the grey/red pixelated version, can you make the red part in the center more smooth, not as rippled? Also, please show me how it looks with red-on-red with the same design

For the curved line version, I'd like it more if you matched the same fonts and letter-case as the pixelated version, also with the same aqua effect

Finally, can you make the slogan to have a lower case "T"?

CONTEST RESULTS​

After much deliberation, we've decided to to pick both Mukesh Panchal and mrpsycho98 for their very hard and fabulous work. We'll ultimately choose one of the logos to use for our main website, but the other logo style will be used interchangeably or in future versions or adjustments of our website.

Both finalists will receive a $50 cash prize as promised
