How many peopel need to rep you to get the green bar way way up?

I looked through the faqs couldnt find it...

Hmm, whats the best way to get it from others? I mean i see the mods and stuff have alot of it but that can be given in the admin of VB.

It can be given in the Admin Panel yes.
Though, i highly doubt the Admins do this, Rep' is earned by posting helpful, and informative posts mainly. :tu:

Don't abuse the Rep' System, in any way.
Some people use users' Rep' Points as a similar system to Trader Ratings. (When a user has no previous TR.) :tu:

The amount of rep point you receive from users is based on their rep.

If you get a grey box in your profile, that means the user that repped you doesn't have alot of rep. If someone who has loads of rep "reps" you, you will receive more rep points.

It's an ancient James formula i think, so i am probably totally wrong.

EDIT: Oh, and staff do NOT manipulate their own rep atall.

I have 431 and 5 boxes, so I think that they're 100 each.

0-99 - box 1
100-199 - box 2
200-299 - box 3
300-399 box 4
400-499 - box 5

Maybe the increment goes up to 200 per box when you have more boxes.

The thing that makes me laugh about the whole "desperation" of people to get rep points is that rep points don't really give you anything other than..... well .... rep points which is what? Rep points right? So what is the big deal?
