Thanks for response - however if you do a twitter keyword search it is a word that is used regularly, but I am thinking maybe this is in Latin America rather than Spain.

Remedar is does not translate to Shadow, but it roughly translate to "to shadow someone", "to imitate someone".
I agree with Gipson on his assessment of Remedar. I am a native Spanish speaking and in 30 years I have never hear anyone use that term outside of a classroom setting.
REMEDy AR system is the only play on words I can think of.
