Registries Down?

Well I went to buy a domain at domainsite now and I went to search for it and .com and .net registries were down at the moment. Now it isn't often that I buy domains in fact this will be the first time I have bought one from outside of my hosting companies but it is frequent that they are down? Well I will just wait and wait until it gets back up...

Update: I tried godaddy and they don't show that the registries are down in fact it shows my domain is availible. I would buy it from them but I don't like them much :hehe:

I tried changing the "lock" status of several of my domains on goddady and found that they stuck on the "pending" status. I also registered a domain name with godaddy and was charged for the name. But it would not appear in my inventory. I hope other people didn't buy the domain already.

Yep, even eNom is having problems. The .com records are not showing up. Also, .US seems to be showing very inconsistent 'availability' results from registrar to registrar.

I think that damn monkey in all4cost's avatar has been rocking back and forth so much, it knocked something loose on the Internet. Way to go, dude!

yea i think all registars are locked right now i just got my hosting and i cant do anything with it lol

Maybe Verisign is doing their DNS upgrade as reported? Could only be affecting the .COM and .NET namespace.

It sure look's like something is going on. I just signed up for membership and made some purchases from and transfer's to above yesterday evening. I can not log on to access my account at the moment. Charlie

Yeah that was the problem then but it is back up and running and I got my domain now

I thought I was able to snatch a 3-letter domain yesterday. The order went through ok, but today I received a notice from godaddy that the registration was cancelled. I guess someone registered before me.

That explains it. The other night I went to register a .com at GoDaddy and they didn't have .com listed at all in their search. Later on it was...
