Just logged into my Registerfly account to be greeted with a pop-up notifying Registerfly (and the visitor) that the site has been hacked. States it is an effort to return control to the rightful owners of the domains and that lest he wants privi information about him released to the public, Kevin Medina should not attempt to intervene or regain control.

Like I wasn't having enough headaches getting my last few domains out!

Perhaps, but it also shows that along with everything else going on there our personal account data probably wasn't to secure either.

By the way, two of my transfer requests just finally came through and when logging in to approve them no longer got the 'Registerfly has been hacked....' message.

One more domain to go. I have pretty much kissed the money sitting in my account goodbye though.

Register something with it! Better to have a domain that might bring a sale than let them keep it. Even if you can't transfer it out right away, it should be moved somewhere shortly. Just get screenprints of your confirmations.

The last recorded domain registered by RF was in mid February.
I don't think they are going anywhere....

I don't think Registerfly is no longer allowed to register new domains. Anyway anyone know what the domain will be done once Registerfly is officially gone? Currently have one domain with Registerfly that going to expire soon and has no intend of renewing it.

I'd say I am sorry to hear all this but the best thing you can do is scream behind a pillow at RegisterFly and hope for the best lol.. Until somebody else steps in or ICANN gets there ass in motion we are just sitting ducks in a world of giant money hogging scoundrals..

If I was ICANN I would transfer everyones domain to a temporary registrar maybe they can create or something like RegisterFling.com or something lol.. And than that will give there customers more of a chance to transfer to their desired registrar.. And all the domains the fail to get transferred can expire :)

As for your money.. I would say try to buy something with it.. Otherwise you will probably end up losing it.. Hopefully you didn't have much like a few other people who have a few 1,000 names and a few thousand dollars in there RegisterFly account..

According to news reports, this is exactly what is scheduled to happen on March 31.

"As a result of the termination, RegisterFly is required to provide ICANN with its database and all necessary 'Authinfo' codes. ICANN will then approve a 'bulk transfer' of all current RegisterFly domain names to another accredited registrar. "

I see a problem with this as well though. I have managed with great pains to now transfer all but one of my domains out to another registrar. However if I login to my Registerfly account, there they all sit still listed with them as well. My point is that Registerfly's database is so hosed now that I see major headaches for all involved to ever get it straightened out.

No can do here. My problems first started back in early February when I attempted to renew a bulk of domains. Several failed with a code indicating the renewals were refused due to 'NSF'. Now knowing I certainly had no financial issues, I attempted to contact Registerfly. Doing some further checking I found that it was because even though I have funds in my RF account, Registerfly has no funds to pay the registry or ICANN in their accounts. In other words, the Non Sufficient Funds rjection was to them, not me directly.

That is why I say I will probably never see my money (not without a lawyer any way.

I'm not sure, because my balance there is only $.19 so I haven't tried and don't' intend to pay more...but even if you can't register standard names, you might still be able to register ccTLD names not under the control of ICANN. However, in their current situation, no one may offer them credit to purchase new ones, ICANN or not.

AHHH MY DOMAINS ARE STILL LOCKED. And I can't buy anything. AHHH this is not happening to me. I'm hopefuly going to be able to transfer to godaddy when they petition Icann to unlock the domains.

Well I am in the process of transferring the last 2 of my domains to Godaddy. I did all the transfer codes etc., blah blah blah. Now I need to find out where in my Registerfly account where to "Accept transfer at current registrar."

RegisterFly "should" send you an email with a link asking you to click it to agree or disagree. I got some of mine the same day or a few days later.
