Affilias only applies the promotion to new registrations. If you are getting at 1.99 to renew the registrar you are buying from is taking a major loss since they are paying around 6.00

The registrar I Buy from doesn't take a loss on them at all.
And is willing to give me a price break on bulk orders of 50+ of a further 10%
Just because some crappy US Registrar is too Miserable to Sell them for a Reasonable price doesn't mean all registrars don't
And yes I am buying lot's of .info's and transferring to myself for a song
