We all have heard about numeric domains going for top dollars. I remember reading an article about a guy that spent over 1 million dollars or to be precise: $1,144,444.30. for symmetrical numerical domains. Check out the article for yourself: Symmetrical Shopping Spree: T.J. Demas Doles Out Over a Million Dollars For 11 Domains

This made me wonder what drives a person to shell out substantial and to-the-penny amounts of money for seemingly random numeric domains? I did some searching and found the following statement:

Imagine you get a car plate number 777, and your mobile number also contains 777 and now you can have a domain name as 777.ae (who cares what I will use it for or even how to use it!) Believe it or not that is exactly what is happening here. Read full article here: Unreported .ae domain sales

They are not kidding! A very wealthy Abu Dhabi guy bought the number 1 license place for $14 Million. Abu Dhabi License Plate Fetches $14 Million, Sets World Record

This tells us not to underestimate the power of magical numbers in regard to domains. This is not breaking news i know... But if people are willing to buy these symmetrical, magical or lucky number domains for lots of $ and sometimes even symbolic amounts. What about lucky, magical or symmetrical registration dates?

For example: I registered Divine7.com on "777" July 7, 2007. Precise timestamp: 2007-07-07 07:07:00.0

This timestamp was more luck than anything else. Since number 7 is a divine number, this domain should be worth something to somebody. Divine7 is 7 characters long. BIN price: $7,777,777 :sold:

If a wealthy person who likes to buy vanity license plates and vanity phone number and the vanity domain to go with it. Then why shouldn't they also want to buy a domain with a vanity registration date?

What do you think, can registration dates be a factor when buying or selling domains?

Your thoughts on this are appreciated.
