Hello All!

Many times I thinked about simple and even strange names became known by everyone.. slashdot, google, youtube, del.icio.us, etc...

They are original, and mostly they were not generic words. Did you ever use any search engine under the name of Search{XYZ} or {ABC}Search? Yahoo! added "!" sign to change the generic word... One of the most usable web portals in Russia is yandex.ru (there is no such word, just to be different from the word index).

Just the idea - I propose you to post here such 1 class wordwide or countries wide famous names used by greatest systems and to discuss their morphologies, tips etc... We may learn much of it! :)

Hey Jammer!

Thank you for information. Never knew what eBay was renamed from.

Actually the same thing happened - they had informative name, may be a little long... But they choosed to rebrand it into a shotter and having more abstract meaning. Is not a law of marketing? :hehe:
