Ever the source of inspiration Roko - I went for a property domain myself yesterday - reg fee too!!

I went with ReelEstate.TV - a nice play on Real with Reel - given that it would be a TV related viewing format.......geddit?!!

So it would be a BRAND reg, but at $27.99 not too much of a gamble!!

I don't understand why you would register a typo .tv domain that will have no traffic whatsoever? Perhaps if Realestate.tv was developed, that would of made more sense.

I just don't understand how this domain will have any value, unless I'm missing something? :)

There is a difference between a typo - that is never brandable and a double entendre which is...http://www.answers.com/topic/double-entendre

Whilst most double entendres have a risque meaning - not all do............for example check out a website called REELTALK.COM - a website of no holds barred movie reviews, in this case REELESTATE.TV would be a branding name for any company that really takes its video footage of its portfolio of properties seriously and wants its website to stand out from the crowd - then REEL makes sense.....

But, Premium, you have to make the connection between REEL and VIDEO, otherwise you will only see it as a typo..... :)

I just don't see this domain having any value in the .tv extension...Real estate isn't related much to videos... Reeltalk.com appears to be a parked page...I mean sure its "brandable", anything is brandable, but in this case you will have to develop the domain IMO. Just expressing my opinion. Good luck with the domain :tu:!

Would need to be developed and successfully branded (with a good :$: budget for that branding in reserves!) in order to see any meaningful valuation here, IMHO. :blink:

Will someone hurry up and develop REALESTATE.TV <edited>....I want the typo traffic to make my money back!!!!!!!!

Perhaps double entendres are best left to the french linguistics department!!!

On second thoughts, I disagree.....

This is not a name for me to develop, this is a name for me to flip.....

Whomever does take REALESTATE.TV will probably be paying six figures....you dont think they would offer me a minimum $100 for REELESTATE.TV...? Of course they would - cause its a nice name which makes sense....

Premium, to say that "real estate isn't much related to video" means that you (with the greatest of respect) have not grasped the idea of the .TV ext.....

.TV is a great extension if the site can make good use of video footage ...if not, stick with a .com.....

Now real estate websites has natually one of the STRONGEST connections to video footage.

Even the .com websites are using video footage never mind .tvs...

Here is why - Easy sell - let people view a property from their home computer and if they like it - then they view the property itself.....

Any site anyone has with a .TV better have a video connection or else it is a waste of reg fee......thus, telephonenumberenquiries.tv makes no sense - you dont need to see video footage of a phone to help you find a phone number....

Yes, anything is brandable - so choose your branding carefully - ReallyRealRealEsate.TV is a possible brand, RealEstate24.Tv is a possible brand, but ReelEstate.TV IMHO is a very strong brand - it uses the very same length of words as REALESTATE and the play of words accentuates the connection between the name and the .TV ext.....

Will it cost alot to brand - very possibly - will I be fronting the money for the branding - no - I will be flipping this name to a company that is already got a business plan in place and is on the hunt for a branding opputunity....

I am prepared to put money on it - I will sell this name within the next five years for over $500 - 5 x 30 = $150 Profit equals $350...!!!!

Anyone who is prepared to stick around long enough - I bet $500 I will get the sale!!

I understand the play on Reel but that would need an end user with the same vision. Secondly to make $350 over 5 years would not call that a flip and it certainly is not a big deal I mean maybe for a 16 year old and if you have premium domains I never understand peoples need to reg sub par domains better to put every penny into development and advertising IMO

1.A profit of $350 over five years is better than a smack on the bottom.....I do not turn any potential profit down....five years is tops - I will keep u informed if I get an offer any sooner than that.
2. I like the name - not sub par to me
3. I have money set aside for development


But guess what - if everyone agreed with all my regges, I would not attach any value to it......its good to see where I strike out on my own.....

If you do develop it it could be cool I can see an interesting play and brandable pop culture type site. $70 a year profit for holding for 5 years kind of inconsequential.

Nice angle Equity.with the pop culture scenario...but not a site I will be developing.....

$70 a year profit...inconsequential??....till I sell my first .TV...I will jump to the moon on any realised profit!!

REG fee for now. You are betting that the same end user will buy your name for $500. The chances of that happening are like me winning on craps... it is unlikely..

I have to agree. I understand the double-entendre and it is "clever," but you're staking the reg on the potential for RealEstate.tv to be..
a. purchased for large amounts of money (in which case they MIGHT want your name)
or
b. getting developed into a high traffic site
