Really Free Domains?

Ok I found this in a Google Ad on this site.

I called up the woman gave me this number and told me that I need to call the number to get to a sales rep and they can help me.

Heres the number: 877-726-7932 Select Option 1 she told me.

I selected option one and got a recording saying If I got the message durring business hours all of our reps are busy with other members. It let me leave a message.

Has anyone else seen this and actually got the domain? On the site it says "Call today and activate your free domain, with no obligation to purchase anything!"

My guess is that they'll 'secure' your domain for you free of charge, but it will be registered with THEIR email address until you decide to pay for it some day (and if you don't, then you'll never be able to use the domain anywhere else). Or, it's free for the first year and then you'll pay a premium price the second. It would be nice if I was wrong though!

Yeah I have no idea. Do you need a certain # of hits? Or is their ads on it?

Sounds a bit iffy, what Gene says is probably the case. They could be building a mailing or call list also.

I agree. The site is ambiguous about the offer then you have to call to get more info. That right there indicates to me that they'll have a big catch waiting for you when you call. Of course, once you tell them that you're not interested, they'll try and sell you everything on their product/services list.
