I know it is a long domain but please take into consideration the keywords and the fact that I also own realestatecompany.bc.ca, realestatecompany.on.ca; one for each province of Canada.

OVT scores are

Well I like this one and I think it was a wise move you took all the province subdomains so you could build a more local presence as well

That kind of name might be of interest to a large network like Remax maybe.
Would appraise at low $$$$. Try to park the name or develop when you have the time.
I also predict the value of .ca will increase in the near future. Hold on to the name...

That's impossible? You can't register the same domain but through different provincial TLD's. If you tried to the whois would give you the error "Domain name is reserved: names of other level exist." If you own one, you basically own them all because people can't register them using a different provincial TLD. I checked out the whois for "realestatecompany.bc.ca" and guess what it says "Domain name is reserved: names of other level exist."

To be honest I don't really think the domain is worth that much. The .CA TLD hasn't really exploded yet, I don't know if it ever will. You could get a much better domain with all the .CA domains left. I would say the domain is worth $20 or under.

Good luck anyways!

long and too generic sounding IMO... better variations probably exist. mid xx, undeveloped. OVT with ext would increase the value.

Not really understanding what you are saying. I own the root domain "realestatecompany.ca" therefore I also own the provincial extensions. Of course the provincial domain names are reserved. I'm the one who they are reserved for.

Thank you for you appraisal. I also own lots of one word generic .ca's but I still really like this one.

Yeah, I bought some .ca domains before and I thought they were so valuable but really .ca hasn't been a big hit yet. Also about the provincial extensions can you have a different website on each one? I just thought if there is one extension used then no one can use or take any others including yourself. I may be wrong though.

i like it.

i'm also not sure about the "provincial domain thing" either?

i didn't think you could even reg a provincial domain anymore? if you are grand-fathered in - fine, but no new ones???

COULD BE TOTALLY WRONG HERE?

anyway - realestatecompany.ca > i'd say high XX - low XXX undeveloped

good luck.

Thanks for all that have posted. KJMZ and domainloot. Here is what is said at CIRA. Now unless I am speed reading and not catching something, it says that I can give permission to register .bc.ca, .on.ca (third level) if I own .ca (second level) if a request has been approved by CIRA and the other Registrant of the Conflicting Domain Name through the respective Registrar in accordance with the Registration of Conflicting Domain Names Policy, Rules, and Procedures (see at www.cira.ca/en/cat_Registrar.html ) I am the "registrant of the conflicting domain name" so all I have to do is apply to CIRA and give permission. Here is what it says.

Conflicting Names. A Domain Name will not be registered if, at the time the Registration Request is made to CIRA, the Domain Name is an exact match in all respects to a Domain Name which is registered in the name of another person in the CIRA Registry at any level, whether second, third or fourth, unless the request has been approved by CIRA and the other Registrant of the Conflicting Domain Name through the respective Registrar in accordance with the Registration of Conflicting Domain Names Policy, Rules, and Procedures (see at http://www.cira.ca/en/cat_Registrar.html) . (amended 2003-06-05) For example, if xyz.on.ca (third level) is registered, another person cannot obtain a Registration for xyz.on.ca, xyz.ca (second level) or xyz.ottawa.on.ca (fourth level) without having obtained the approval from CIRA and the other Registrant of xyz.on.ca in accordance with the Registration of Conflicting Domain Names Policy, Rules, and Procedures (see at http://www.cira.ca/en/cat_Registrar.html). (amended 2003-06-05)

problem with the .ca is that you can only (legally) sell them to a canadian citizen / resident.

noname - yes, that's why I even don't try to get some nice names in .US. I have no legal right to register any .US domain. Pitty.

Don't forget companies. They are the big buyers of .ca domains. Lots of American businesses register .ca names for a couple of reasons. One, CA stands for California too. Check out www.disneyland.ca. The other is we share a connected economy and a long border. It is really easy to set up/incorporate a company/association in Canada. That is all CIRA is looking for. Residency requirements are only one way to register a .ca domain.

That is true, everyone thinks it's so hard to get a .ca domain. If you are interested enough you could easily get one. Also thanks for info about the provincial and the other extensions. I have never knew that, it sure is a great that you can do that.

Thanks!
