RealEstate vs RealEstates - What's correct?

Has anyone here registered any domains that end with Estates rather than Estate?

According to google, "Estate" has a much higher search frequency than "Estates", but we'd like to know what you all consider more appropriate. Is it more correct to choose the plural over the singular?

One example: Would you register CanadianRealEstates(.)com or would you go for CanadianRealEstate(.)com?

I'm guessing English isn't your first language?

Real Estate singular is the standard by lightyears.

thanks D-man, I had to double check my own grammar skills because a lot of the search results returned by google often include "Real Estates". If you do a search you'll find plenty of estate domains out there with a "estates.com" ending.

I started this thread, to get a definite answer.

The online dictionaries (I looked at) weren't really putting the answer out there in a clear text format either, if you know what I mean :P

It's Real Estate not Real Estates for americans but for AU, UK, NZ they say Property not real estate.

Real Esate. Real estate doesnt make any sense and I think in domaining it is always better to have the singular.

It isn't even an issue of singular/plural. It's an issue of standardized terminology.

thanks for the clarification on this. I know that the exact search results are much higher for "Real Estate" but since there was such a large amount of domains ending with "realestates.com" I wanted to post this thread ;)

If you hop over to google for a quick look at this link you'll see what I mean in terms of search results. Doesn't matter though, Real Estate it is!

Thanks for the feedback all :kickass:

@ ThreeD

Sorry brother but I am not trying to hijack your topic but need to ask related question to this thread that I have domains ending with Realties.com

I know Realty is a dictionary word but is Realties the plural of Realty or Realty itself is plural of Realty?

In AU, it's both known as Real Estate & Property

Can someone please reply to my question...

I know many people in the real estate business - in all levels of working in it.

"Real Estate" and "Realty" are the jargon terms as they relate to this topic.

Any other variations are incorrect.

who told you that ???? not the case in australia

I happily own realestatetours/com/au

The biggest realestate/land/property webite is called realestate.com.au ..... funny that ?

of course the word property is used but realestate is the one that gets the bickies

RealEstate, never realEstates. As mentioned, Property is also worth considering for a kew word.
