Does anyone have an opinion about this domain? I went looking around for real estate listings in the British Virgin Islands and most of the listings I found were 1.5 million plus. Most of those websites were dot-com. However, as mentioned in another thread, real estate is one of those industries that deals with large transactions consistently and may be less hesitant to drop some dollars on a good name.

All realestate.ext domains, available through GD, are gone, even the .ext.ext versions. A plus for this name is obvious in that BVI’s official language is English. And, the BVI is a playground for tourism. There are only 23 thousand permanent residents. But, there are 350 thousand visitors a year, many of whom I will assume are wealthy and might tinker with buying a vacation spot.

I looked up mortgage.vg is a live site for a company in Florida, so there is always the broader market as well. Anyway, any guesses on a value? Would say low to mid $xx,xxx be unreasonable to an end user?

Very good keyword but the extension is not well known, so XX,XXX is nearly impossible, as for me. Develop it and seo it. Without development it is very difficult to fetch more than high $XXX. I think that if some company can invest XX,XXX in a name they will not purchase a .vg.

Good luck!

Thank you

Thank you for the feedback. I agree that the domain is obscure. However, I wonder if it might carry a bit more weight with real estate agents in BVI, thus making it worth a bit more than xxx.

Thanks again.

.vg is not super obscure...if places like GoDaddy and iDotz sell it, then it's a step above extensions where you have to go to the registry to buy them. I've sold a .vg for $800 and am asking for $x,xxx for some of my better .vg names.

RealEstate is IMO among the top domain keywords. RealEstate.ext are good names. They aren't as strong as poker, casino, or travel, but I believe you can still get high $xxx to low $xxxx (like under $2,000). It might be a wait...I personally haven't seen any RealEstate.ext sales recently, but it's still a good name to sit on. If you can find an end user real estate company in the Virgin Islands, shoot for the moon, but having the name listed at Sedo, Afternic, etc ain't gonna do it...you'll likely have to search far and wide to get an end user who NEEDS the name and would be willing to pay more than low $x,xxx for it. Good luck!

Vegas not BVI....

Professional and personally you are going in the wrong direction with .vg. The British Virgin Islands selected .vg for two good reasons. 1. it relates similar to Virgin 2. And most importantly it relates to Vegas in the same way as Virgin. This was not a mistake, the British Virgin Island popularity increase exponentially through gambling so don't think this was a mistake that .vg could be misconstrued for Vegas. FYI, I’m a web designer and I have been working with developers in San Francisco and Silicone valley developing very expensive sites .vg for “business” out of Vegas. In short I would start talking to large Real Estate companies in Vegas maybe even casinos that are selling condos. The refer fees could be huge. Oh yeah, there is alot more real estate in Vegas than in BVI.

.vg

I agree as well, vg is the acronym for Virgin, which is one words out of the country’s long name, “British Virgin Islands”(they chose .vg and not .bvi for a reason). If applied to Las Vegas other wise know as “Vegas” it make more grammatical sense, furthermore it’s a term that is know world wide.

That's one of the first keywords I check for in any TLD. Nice find.

Value will be somewhere between $700 and $2000.

BTW, I don't think the term "Real Estate" is used in the United Kingdom (I could be wrong) so I evaluated the domain only as I would any other ccTLD.

We do use the term...but not often. Its mainly called the property market here.

Looking at my old posts, I noticed that I missed the last few responses on this one. Thanks for the pointers and suggestions. I haven't decided whether to sell or develop later as of yet.
