Hello everyone,

I notice that RealEstate.com redirect to Trulia.com. I wonder when did Trulia.com buy Realestate.com,and for how much? Great pick up by Trulia.com

RealEstate.com is truly a landmark name, even more valuable than sex.com.
IMO, it should have sold for at least $5-8M, also considering the fact that RealEstate.net sold for $300k.

In September 2011, RealEstate.com was acquired by Market Leader, Inc. from LendingTree, LLC for $8.25 million.

In May 2013, Market Leader, Inc. was acquired by Trulia for $355 million: http://techcrunch.com/2013/05/08/trulia-to-buy-market-leader/

Part of that $355 million was for RealEstate.com.

Today, Jamie Zoch reported:

Market Leader Inc. has transferred RealEstate.com from MarkMonitor to GoDaddy.com in an interesting move… but one that may reflect that Market Leader Inc is not using MarkMonitors service any longer? RealEstate.com redirects to Trulia.com and Trulia.com is also registered at GoDaddy.com.

Trulia ranks well for the search term real estate but is not #1 in Google when I searched. Trulia.com held a #3 and #4 ranking for me. Realtor.com, Zillow.com ranked #1 and #2. Why they are only using RealEstate.com as a redirect… I’m not sure.
