READ: GoDaddy domain names being stolen!

A scammer is on a stealing spree as of right now, as far as I know, he is only stealing Godaddy domain names. Godaddy isn't really doing anything about it. The scammer will either hack into your Godaddy account, steal it, and then sells it as fast as possible. BEWARE: The scammer is also contacting people with Godaddy domain names, setting up escrow transactions at Escrow.com, EscrowDNS, Moniker, etc, and then emails the seller making it appear that it is from the escrow service and tells the seller to push the domain name into their account at Godaddy. Make sure that you CALL any escrow service that you are using before pushing the domain name. Also remember that an escrow service WILL NEVER ask you to transfer the domain name UNTIL THE PAYMENT is secured. If you are a victim of this scammer, I recommend that you contact Godaddy ASAP.

IWY.com and ZAQ.com stolen from my Godaddy account.

Thanks rockefeller for this warning thread and for emailing me about iwy.com, which you noticed was trying to get sold by this scammer.

I have been on the phone with Godaddy a few times and so far they are very helpful, although obviously I'm only really happy when I see the two stolen domains back in my account.

I'm not sure how he hacked into my account, it might be with a fake Godaddy email asking me to log in and verify my details due to the ICANN rules as my account was hacked shortly after that, unfortunately I do not have that email anymore, so I'm not sure.

According to the Godaddy 'change of registrant' email, the email of the hacker was: [email protected]
although whois is now showing [email protected] as the email.

It appears that one domain is still in the hackers account, which is now closed by Godaddy and the other was already sold (the sale was done very fast as it must have happened in just a few hours). I was told that Godaddy already contacted the buyer and he is now trying to get his money back.

The iwy.com whois shows these details from the scammer:

I feel I will be just okay soon enough, but as rockefeller mentioned, there might be something going on and in any doubt please do check on your Godaddy account and change password, just to make sure all is fine!

This guy is also using

[email protected] and frequently taunts the people that he stole the domain names from. Godaddy sent me a private message here but they seem to just sit back and do nothing, will probably require an injunction to freeze the domain names

All of the domain names that he sold at DP used [email protected] as the email address, this is associated with a known scammer located all over the net, I can also confirm that this same guy emailed me asking me to purchase 6a.net, which again, is a known stolen domain name:
