if you are willing to pay $xx or $xxx for an already registered domain...and I offer you a good domain unregistered for $5.00 bucks, and you agree if you like it, you'll pay that, but you want to see them first - understandably - but if you are the only one I'm showing it to,...then tell me it's not what you're looking for....then you register it?...!...come on
For $5.00 bucks, That's not good forum practise. and not good business pratise either.....$5.00 bucks....lol...hope it was worth the deception!
I am thoroughly disappointed with this. I offered to save you money on YOUR request...and that's the thanks I get. The whole reason for pming is to prevent this in the forum...then the contest holder does it....sad!...very sad!!

With thousands of Members here there are bound to be jerks amongst us. I would have no problems paying a $5 finders fee myself, heck thats still like less then $14 total, some people are just cheap and underhanded.

I do this all the time but I don't ask for a finder fee anymore. I keep it for the guy to decied to offer something in return or not. I found people looking to spend xxxx for names and I sent them great lists of avaliable names and saved them cash. Some did donate and some did not.

In fact, I did also post a long list of GREAT names avaliable on a forum (Not Here) and all domains got registered from members on the forum. All I wanted is to see a Thank You Senaia post but no. No thank you post or anything. Since then, I don't post GREAT domains for people who don't really care how hard you looked for these names and find it hard to even thank you.

I do the same thing. But there are some greedy people and lie about what they register. And then sometimes people try to pay me for hours of work with $5.00

For some strange reason I enjoy the searching...it is amazing which ones are still available. in all tld's The $5.00 is all I said my fee was even if it took me days to find one they liked. I enjoy it...sadly.....after they pay me I'll find myself a nice domain and buy it. That's what I'm doing it for...But what gets me is they were willing to pay $xx or higher....yet they had to be sneaky about it....do they not think we'll check it...especially a pm...that means it was only sent to them....

Hey all, does this belong in the domains wanted section? Seems more like discussion to me?

Mis_chiff as I mentioned to you via PM, I appreciated the service you performed for me, unfortunately we couldn't make a match for my requirements. I'm sure that happens a lot. Since DNs are like candy, if one kid doesn't like it, another might immediately gobble it up. I choose to believe that most people who are recipients of your service are honest and the subsequent registration of the DN is a mere coincidence.

One more thing. If you test the availability of the names at GoDaddy and a few other registrars, the names you test are added to a queue that some have suggested is reviewed by other name speculators. I stick with testing names at NameCheap and Moniker. I've been burned by this too.

What? Who has access to this queue and where is it?

hey namemaker...not you...lol....I know you were looking for a specific to bad I couldn't find one for you.
this is about another NP requestor.
But as far as coincidence goes....this person was the only one who saw the pm...and I'd say within an hour...it was registered!
Way to coincidental.... considering it's been available since the inception.

I do not think you should post their username until you are certain that they regged it. Check whois. If we start blaming people without being certain, we are setting a very dangerous precident.

I won't post the name until I have it confirmed...although I pretty much do. I have the pm time and the regged time. I have also contacted the member to give him/her the opportunity to fess up! So we'll see what happens!
