If someone has a pr domain name like www.hello.com at a pr5. If the domain runs out so they have to buy it again, but you buy it will it still be a pr5 when you buy it?, as long as there is no re-ranking of domains between that time
Could this work as you may be able to pick up some really nice pr5 domins and things for $5 or something.

Hi - I have one PR4 domain I got in a drop about a month ago - It still shows it as a PR4 in urltrends.com even though it is now parked at sedo - I assume this rating will change before long - So I would say yes to your question :)

I have heard folks on SEO forums (both white and black hat) say that you will eventually lose the PR. Reason is that since Google is an ICANN accredited registrar they can tell when a domain changes ownership and will reset PR info when the ownership changes.

That is just what I heard. Not sure it it's actually true, though. Would surely suck if it's true.

Well if it is such a good domain that it has a pr rank, wouldnt you have thought that it would get close to that pr rank soon or do you think it would depend on the website it has on it?

The pagerank depends on the quality of the content more than anything as far as I am aware - It also helps if it has incoming links from websites with a good PR rate.
