Time for some new appraissals I get some every 2 years or so just cant part with it till I get 10k, this is a one word memmorable generic name not to many as memmorable as this available. could be any weather type site, or dates gone bad, event tickets etc, not a lot of visits but makes 50 percent of reg fee back every year also raindates.com IF there is a more catchy or memmorable name avaialable for less than 10k i would like to hear what they are, certainly if you heard raindate.com you wouldnt forget it for at least 24 hrs, so have at it negative and psoitive welcome

I think 10K is overly optimistic. What other domains with the likes of RainDate.com have you successfully sold for 10K?

Only 260 exact searches per month on "rain date" according to the Google AdWords Keyword Tool. A couple of weeks ago I picked up SafetyRails*com for $60 (1600 exact searches/month on "safety rails")

As for more memorable that have sold for under $10K recently, I present you:

* Sentimental.com - $7.1K
* Cheesy.com - $6.9K
* Sack.com - $7.1K
* Stairway.com - $8.0K
* Koot.com - $2.5K
* Patriarch.com - $2.4K
* CrimeReport.com - $8.3K
* FormalAttire.com - $3.6K
* Bed.org - $3.6K
* EarlyWarning.com - $6.9K
* Shiz.com - $2.4K

If you'd like me to pull up more, I could.

RainDate.com is low-mid $XXX reseller, though you never know what an end-user might pay. Very unlikely $10K IMHO.

Thanks josh for your honest appraissal, I agree there is almost no value in this name based on traffic or searches but as a memmorable one word domain especially for an end user if you heard it on the radio would you remmember it, its one of those words everyone knows those examples you gave are good but are they as memmorable as raindate.com maybe they are and i stand corrected, but to me there arent many 1 word domains left on the open market that have the familiarity as this. Like I said before I do appreciate your input and maybe I am blind and staying open to others point of views, what is worse is to put up a name for appraissal and have no one input
Thanks Josh for your input seriously

Agree its low xxx as a name , ofcourse a enduser can pay $500 is they like it that much but I am not as optomistic on this name as you are. I cant see this being a x,xxx name under any conditions. just my opinion . Just cant see any real usage of the site that would warrant anything over low xxx at best. And this isnt really any more catchy or memorable than any other name. I can reg catchy and memorable names for reg fee , doesnt make them worth anything more than reg fee. sorry. Also ( Wifes an english teacher) Rain Date is two words you would write it Rain Date not Raindate. Type it into google as Raindate and it will ask you if you meant Rain Date seperated by a space as its two words. that may be why you think it worth more than it is, you think its a one word .com.

I'd have to agree with the above. I can't see it fetching more than three figures.

For a name to be truly memorable, it has to make sense. "Rain Date" to me just doesn't make much sense, even in the context you suggested in the first post.

"RainDate" is taken in COM/NET and the term is taken in 4 total domains.

Minimal search volume / traffic / end user appeal.

It is from 2001 which is about the best thing going for it.

I think this is about Mid $XX - Low $XXX tops.
