Anybody have experience with calendar date .com domains? For example, I own:

September17th.com

I got this domain because that date is personally significant to me. Not trying to sell it. But I've always wondered if, just that one day a year, "date" domains get tons of type-in traffic. I started checking, and every freaking date seems to be taken in .com (most of them for a long time, this one's from 1998), along with semantic variations (september17.com, etc).

Check out this google search trends graph for three random dates: Google Trends: september 17th, march 15th, june 1st. The spikes pick out that day every year! Isn't that cool?

Of course, once again september 17th rolled around and I forgot to park it or put up some kind of traffic counter. Maybe next year. :|

What do you think, does anybody have experience with these?

I own one in May, but have never bothered to check it, its recently parked on sedo, but I'll have to keep an eye on it come may.

Imagine the guy who registered september11th.com on 09-May-2001.

cheers,
