With the previous experience of a forwarded domain that disregard the alexa ranking, am i getting it right finally?

Is the traffic legit? And does it have value because the name is <removed>. :'(

Many thanks fellow np memebers!

The traffic noted on Alexa actually is from the domain in question, as far as I can tell (when you view the profile on Alexa, it doesn't show you a different domain than you entered).

However, I'm wary as to the legitimacy of the traffic. There are no backlinks to the site. There is only one result in Google for "povgeber" and it isn't the site itself. That brings up another point, if the site was apparently getting some decent traffic since late January, why is there nothing from it in Google. Nevermind the site itself, there aren't even references to it.

Over half of the Alexa-measured traffic is from Japan. I'm wondering if it was simply someone using proxies and trying to juice the domain's Alexa ranking. I don't have any reasoning why it would still be receiving Alexa traffic as of June 13th, though. Could be part of an Alexa-bumping ring and for whatever reason still being visited.

Anyway, since it appears you already have purchased it, you could track the traffic for a few days and see whether you get any real visitors. Until and unless that can be determined, the domain doesn't have any real value.

When valuing domain names with traffic - the value is in the revenue that the domain itself generates. For instance, since you have the domain name - What has it done since youve owned it?

Is the traffic there? Does it convert? Frankly. I think this is a case where the domain in question is largely valueless.

Its funny. Estibot is a great tool - but you need to really understand each metric on its own. I would recommend starting with a different approach to domain names.

Ask yourself a question - pretend your a business related to the field of your domain - and ask if you would buy this domain name and if so, how much and why?

For Instance, if I owned an Animal Hospital - would I buy SaveYourAnimalToday.com? Probably not. I would look for either a Geo, or as generic as I could find.

I will generally only buy a domain with traffic when the domain itself is also good. Normally Alexa rankings are outdated, and even if the traffic is valid it will really be lost fast. People are not going to rush to revisit a parked page.
