Quote.com have always been (IMHO) well ahead of their time.
The existence of their functioning quote.mobi has been fairly widely known for some time of course, but personally I wasn't aware of either the radio ads or the .com promotion.
Tophatter repped and Arnie owed more rep when system allows.
Arnie's link (
http://new.quote.com/features/mobile.html) is well worth visiting for many reasons, but my favorite quotable part is this:
"
What you need to do to get Quote.mobi today...
* Nothing! ..."
IMHO one could say the same about .mobi in general. :hehe:
But seriously...
I've always assumed that almost all .mobi promotion would be done via the Internet, and that not many people would ever be asked to type a .mobi address on their phones (thinking: Why do that when you can just say something like ''click here to
send this mobile-ready site to your mobile/cellphone").
Advertising a .mobi site on radio to me is up there with Bank of America advertising BofA.mobi in traditional poster campaigns.
Pretty brave, and pretty encouraging - coming from the people who brought us the revolutionary QCharts so many years ago (and arguably being credited with inventing Yahoo Finance).
Big hat tips again to both Governator and Tophatter!
