i emailed its owner some days ago asking if the name was really at ebay and he told me so
he didnt let me bid because i am not from the countries/areas he listed in the sale :'(

he set a low reserve price as it was already met
good luck to its new owner, i hope he/she is a NPer

I don't think it is a steal. It is a bit overpriced.

It would be a good domain for an anti smoking campaign, or drug rehab or something. But it does have limited uses I think.

Well since You.org sold this past week for $14,500, I think Quit.org is a Better Domain and still at a fair price.

both fabulous domains

tbh with a .org at end this is one of those rare domains which is virtually as good as the com
tbh, potential suitors may only want the .org in this instance. obviously for a quitting smoking site

Seller is not too thrilled about using escrow.com by reading Q&A.
Does the seller know paypal is THE worst payment method for seller?

Put up on ebay with no reserve and let's see how close you could come.

Agreed. Especially with all the anti-smoking ads that are on .tv, this is the perfect name for it.

I don;t know about you, but when I hear 'quit' first thing that comes to mind is 'quit smoking'.
Developing it would require some resources, but I think a few organizations could be interested as endusers...

sold

I posted this sale on my blog and was contacted soon after the sale by one of the partners to take down the post. I assume they don't want the selling price known as it may hurt their bottom line maybe I don't know. I wonder if they are a np'er. They asked nicely to take it down and I tend to maybe do that.

What would you guys do? I mean everyone obviously knows what it sold for. Anyone who is paying attention knows. I was just the first to post it.

If I take it down then someone else will surely post it eventually. I guess what is the point of taking down at this point. I don't want to hurt anyones sales that is for sure, but the info is out there. Thoughts?

Quite honestly - Once I confirm that a domain has transfered hands - its going up on NameBio.com - I get requests quite frequently to pull sales data as they would prefer not to have it known. I tend not to oblige them if the sale is conducted in a public forum or venue. If they wanted a private sale, shouldn't have sold it in a public way.
