Quick Question For VB Forum Owners

Sorry, had no idea where to ask this but here it goes.

I sat and literally watched my guests on my forum go from 10 to 110 The IP address's were all basically the same and come from SOFTBANK TELECOM Corp. in china or japan.

anyone have any idea whats going on with this?

Do you have any anti-spam plugins or anything?
Softbank is a broadband telecommunications co in japan, so the ip's would be from one of their customers. There have been reports of spam coming from Softbank ip's before.
With a jump that large I'd keepp my eyes open for spammers.

i have a custom profile question in place during registration, ever since i put thatin ive had no bots or spammers. but this tonight was strange, they all came at once.

That is strange. Perhaps they have figured out a way around that???
All at once... sounds fishy to me. A new VB security flaw perhaps? Have you contacted any VB support?

well it could have been bots right? all the ip's were the same. so im guessing if it was a bot or bot(s) they may have tried to register but failed the antispam question i have in place. Am I thinking correctly here?

Also, had seo and link building done today so that a coincidence or what?

I dont know really alot about all this.

Could be the issue, as you stated it was the "guests" that went up.
This might somehow be related to the seo & link building. Or just some random bot...
