Question regarding AdSense Channel

Hi,
I have purchased a few sites that has adsense in it.
After transferring to my server I went ahead and change the
google_ad_client to my assigned client number.

I DID NOT change the google_ad_channel and it is still
showing the channel number from the previous owner.

Is this going to affect anything? Can I leave it or must
I change it.

Any input will be appreciated.
