Question about .TV and .WS??

If there are GEO domains out there available in these 2 extensions, are they worth regging.

I have found some names that have 5-70 million results in google in the .WS extension

and a couple of .TV GEO names that have around 5-10 million google results

So the places are quite well known, Im just not sure what .WS/.TV geo domains are worth

I'd say look at the population numbers and how wealthy they are (someone in the geo area will tell you exactly what the base level should be) over google results. or see if it's a high tourism, business destination, etc to see if a site for it would be profitable.

I dont think Tuvlu or Western Samoa are exactly economic hot spots, people dont use these extensions for the geographic countries they represent.

Heres some good info on Tuvalu from wikipedia:

.tv has nothing to do with tuvalu anymore. it doesn't even have to mean television - often just a cool extension these days

yes, it is a "vanity" domain- .tv is for television/media- even tuvlau knew they would not get what they are getting from their contract if it was meant to be marketed as a country code- tuvalu is sinking-

most good geos in .tv are gone- but you may find one or two- and on drops-
obscure places may not do so well- as the base for a tv site would be say, to show video on the place-

so, hawaii.tv would rock, as there is much tourism, beauty, features to want to show video on-

when you get smaller, you really get targeted- not that a smaller town would not warrent a tv site, but if there is not much going on, the name might be a hard sell-

I am not sure if you will get any revenue from either .tv or .ws right now. If I had to choose, go with .tv. I believe .tv is going to be a good extention to have in the future. Domaining these days is like playing the stock market, No Risk = Little or no Reward.

I have no problem with tv or ws, the original poster asked about GEO domains in these extensions which would imply CITIES or STATES which are GEOGRAPHIC based...not KEYWORDS like ACTIONPACKED.TV which are not geo. Just because they are using a country code extension does not make them geo names.

Dont be calling me a hater just because you do not understand proper terminology.

I just chucked in the ActionPacked.tv cos that the only .tv I own. I wanted see what people thought
