Question about taxes for ppc/affiliates

I'm just starting up my websites and have a few questions.

Do you need an ein/tax id to be an affiliate/ppc'r or will your social security number be fine?

I know some businesses/banks who will take a SSN in lieu of the above.. so can I use it for this or no?

Your SS# is your Tax ID number for the US.
Effectively one and the same for individuals (Non-inc, no business id, etc.).

Just want to warn you about affiliate prorams you subscribe to .... make sure it is legitimate website with good reputation and not a fraudulent site trying to get info that can be used in the identity theft
