Question about osCommerce

I want to make a simple e-commerce website that supports shopping cart, PayPal, Credit card payment etc.
I get a suggestion about using osCommerce,
but i heard that there is a "security threat" (PHP register globals).
Anyone has a suggestion whether i should use it, or is there any other useful scripts instead of osCommerce?

Yea, I think OSCommerce is still decent. It is very stable in terms of security. I have some sites that have been fine for years.

i'm using OSC for 5 years now and i can say that it's the best..easy to customize, hundreds of modules easy to install and a lot of good templates..
