Hello, i 've just sold a domain name via godaddy auctions. I accepted the offer and it is displaying the message ''pending buyer purchase''. I want to ask, what's next? The domain name is registered to Rebel, how can i communicate with the buyer? Thank you for understanding, this is my first sale via GD.

Hi,

Pending buyer purchase means the buyer has not paid for the domain yet. It will change once the buyer pays. After godaddy "verifies funds / payment) they will tell you to communicate with the buyer and you will see a way to communicate within the system.

Hope this helps.

Edit: The status now says: ''Funds received, authorization pending''

Who pays the transfer fees if the buyer does not want to use your registrar and wants domain pushed in his Godaddy account?

Yes, you need to wait. Status will change into funds accepted/verified (or something like that) and you will probably get a suggestion from GoDaddy to contact the seller and continue with transfer. Sometimes GoDaddy finish everything and sometimes you gotta do it.

I edited my previous post, i have new status now. About registrar, i dont really know, i hope this will not happen. But i suppose, i will have to transfer the name to godaddy if the buyer ask it.

The buyer will pay the fees if they want the domain moved to godaddy. (at least that is what I have done when I buy) Again, godaddy will let you know once the funds are verified and then you can communicate with the buyer to see how to proceed.

For now, i have to wait some days for new e-mail from GD. I will update the thread soon.

That's correct...

It'll take GoDaddy about 7 days to verify the funds, then they'll update the status and provide a link to email the buyer the auth code. If the transfer goes quickly then you should receive your funds on the 20th day after the domain was sold.

Everything you have been informed about in this thread is correct. Just wait for the messages from GoDaddy. Probably the next email you receive GoDaddy will eMail you their Auth and Transfer Codes. But these are for the buyer. I usually reply to that email by sending them the auth code from the current registrar.* The buyer needs all 3 codes to initiate and complete a transfer to GoDaddy. You could also copy all 3 codes to the buyer in your control panel.

* The email from GoDaddy with their transaction codes comes from [email protected]. They don't answer mails. You need to change the recipient of your email reply from [email protected] to [email protected].

Remember. That the domain needs to be unlocked at your registrar, for the transfer to complete. So you should also go and do that now, before you forget :)

Just something different. I bought a domain on GD Closeouts a few days ago but not in my account yet. Does it take some days for some reason?

@stub i followed these link
Am i right?

Yep. Exactly. That will give you the Auth Code to transfer away from Rebel. This you will need to provide to the buyer along with GoDaddy's 2 transfer codes (when you receive them) They need all 3 codes to begin the transfer to GoDaddy.

You will also need to unlock the domain while you are on Rebel, as well.

Yep. Technically the domain still belongs to the previous registrant up to and including day 45 after expiry. I haven't checked specifically the day GoDaddy transfer it to you account. But I'd imagine it would be on Day 46 (give or take maybe a day).

You did unlock the domain at Rebel? Yes/No? They will transfer the domain to GoDaddy. When it is the buyers account (usually about 5-7 days) GoDaddy will release payment (usually within 5 days).

You have specified on GoDaddy where you want them to send the funds?

Approve the transfer away request and wait for the transfer to complete. If the domain sold on Saturday April 22nd, as long as the transfer doesn't take longer than usual, then you should get your funds on Friday May 12th.
