i know most spam is generated- if i was to turn off an email address, say for 3 days- do you think it would bounce enough times for them to just remove it from their list? then use the email again?

They wouldn't remove it, they just would put it in their category"bounced" and.....sell after a while the bounced list....that is quite common....rather then turning off the email i would use things like spamfighter(free for 30 days but i think they also have a free version)....if you have your own server there are quite a lot of solutions out there...if you are just having some basic hosting for your primary email/domain it could help to talk with your hosting company....

Ye, as liquidcherry said. They won't remove you from the list. The best thing to do is get a good program that keeps the spam down.

You can just let google host your email for your domain for free. I like google's spam filters and you get 6 gigs of mail for free. This has helped me spam fight, most of my domains are hosted on gmail.

spamfighter- is that when the person gets an email saying- before i get their email, they have to click the link to get in thingy?

usually i just change the email- dont have my own server- but i have theis email at sooooooooo many places, i just KNOW i am gonna forget, and then lose a domain or something-

i guess i can try the spam fighter thing- i just know it annoys me when i have to do it to reach someone :(

crud- i was doing so good- but just in the last two weeks, after alllllllllllllll this time, i have been spam free believe it or not- 2 years, and no spam to my biz address- i have been so carful how i post it- and bam- overnight, i am getting hoards of spam to them. i screwed up somewhere ;-(

No, what you describe is the spam protection from netzero or a lot of other free email services :)

Everyone who aquires a list of emails or scrapes the internet for emails has the emails saved, applied to their "email portfolio"...once they discover that an email they bought is "bounced" or stuff lke that...they just put tem in the cat. "bounced", not available...etc....and then they have after time another lsit what they sell for only 50% what they paid for......thta's just how it workks :)

Frank

Nope. You'll get spam after that from other places.
