Question about cell phone browsers

Since I don't own a blackberry or a cell phone with internet capability, I am wondering if someone can answer this question. Does the internet browser software on cell phones or blackberry type of devices automatically forward a domain to the .com address in a similar fashion as Internet Explorer does on a computer? For example if I owned 25.com and typed only 25 into the browser and hit enter, would it take me to the .com address automatically?

Also out of curiosity, are a lot of people willing to pay the cost of internet browsing through their cell phone?
