Quantum & Qubit domains are starting to feel a lot like AI domains back in 2015–2017
Not crowded
Not fully understood
Mostly ignored
And that’s usually where the real positioning happens
One important distinction I keep coming back to
“Quantum” vs “Qubit”
Quantum is broad, brandable, and future facing
It sells the vision
Qubit is technical, niche, and foundational
It represents the actual engine behind it
It reminds me of how AI evolved
AI became the umbrella, while terms like transformers and deep learning stayed more technical but extremely valuable in the right context
Where things get interesting is in combinations
Quantum + AI feels like where AI was around 2018–2020
That phase when real applications started taking shape beyond just research
Then there are layers that are easy to overlook but likely inevitable
Quantum + Security with the shift toward post quantum cryptography
Quantum + Infrastructure across compute, cloud, and networks
Qubit based naming for deep tech, labs, and tooling
And then the more speculative side
Quantum or Qubit combined with Crypto or RWA
This feels similar to the 2020–2021 phase of AI + crypto
Early, noisy, but with serious upside if it plays out
The bigger takeaway for me
The winners won’t be built around the word “quantum” itself
They’ll be built around what it enables
Speed, optimization, security
We’re still before the breakout moment for quantum
Which makes this phase less about chasing keywords
and more about understanding where real use cases will emerge
