I've just completed the set up of "CES" Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, NV. This is always a rush of a show. Exciting and fast. All the lastest products, slogans, taglines....etc.The 100 hour work week is a draw back but it's worht it!
The Letter "Q" is every place. Products and taglines are riddled with the letter "Q". Law prohibits me from giving names or quotes but I can say that I will be shopping domains with the letter "Q" in them. More details after the shows completion.

There is no disputing, that along with the other 'lesser' letters, that Q is less easy to use within an acronym.

However, personally I have always liked it, it looks great. I have always thought the letter 'X' is the best 'looking' letter of all and along with 'Q' I reckon it gives a company a very contemporary look and feel.

B-)

For a new company, just looking for a short domain to represent it on the net, rather than paying premium prices for a top LLL combo it makes a lot of sense to save thousands and grab a domain such as Q4.net or QLX.com.

Moral of the story: Don't completely disregard the runt letters in the LLL domains. I remember selling oqk. com for $400 2 1/2 years ago (and made a decent profit!) when it would be $1250-1750 now probably.

actually the Domain King himself (Rick S.) heavily disagrees w/commercial use of .net and I have to also agree.. almost 100% of the time the .com will always steal traffic from a .net

Eh?

Were still talking about 'Q'.
The letter is relevant in all TLDs not just .com!

Q1.com
3Q.net
QAT.org
BIQ.info

They all look okay to me and are still inherently value just not as valuable as compared to the above with a G instead of the Q on an average basis.

Who mentioned .com anyway? Scoundrels! :)

I want my own bed ! and my own shower ! and.....

OK… :)

I’m a bit surprise at the response to this post. Had I known there would be such an interest I would have hinted a bit more. (j/k) :) Jet lagg, 16 hour days and loud upbeat people have exhausted me. Anybody want three baqs of marketinq giveaway booty? They only weiqht about 742 lbs. (j/k)
There are some amazing produqts and services beinq introduced and announced and of course we will respeqt the vested rights to those marketinq, development and ownership efforts.

That being said....Our ideas are no lonqer just ideas. You think it and they are makinq it. You fear it and they are making it. There are some outraqeously Qool produqts and some outraqiously alarminq produqts coming.
Media is merginq, broadcastinq is partnerinq up, internet is reachinq out to brick and mortar, personal media rules! 100 inch display that will make you qry. Big borother getting big (better) eyes and ears. Global tracqing on everything. Homebased employment getting geared up :imho:

I aqree that to the reply that just because the produqt is announced and the marketinq is in action that the product is goinq to succeed. However it does lend weight to the slant in teqhnology and popularity as well as development and investment dollars.
That beinq said I will stiqk to my comment that the letter “Q” seems to be being used in a lot of produqts and or services. Perhaps just beqause of it’s oddity I am takinq notice. But that is in effeqt good marketinq isn’t it? Sunday I will have , hopefully, all the listinqs of companies and produqts attending the show (CES 2006) . It will be perfeqtly legal. I will try to link it by category unless alphabetiqally is more praqtical. For those of you less than excited about the “Q” news can then pursue the names of your choice.

:( Q from James Bond died a few years back. He was so adorable... I like John Cleese though.

Q is kind of a weird letter. It's not even a vowel!
