I miss the old purple site where I could chase the purple squirrel. $900,000 was way to cheap in my opinion for a domain of this type and quality. It is easily worth 4 million.

I just can't understand people who have massive domains like that, and are not either putting them into use or ready to sell it. Surely that person has received absolutely massive offers for the domain, so it not just negotiating tactic to "pretend" that it is not for sale.

Best way to get more money is to pretend you are not interested in selling.

Heck, we do it all the time :xf.laugh:

Good price for buyer and seller IMO.

The traffic it came with, is an interesting point that I haven't seen much discussion on.

Prior to the sale in Nov 17, it was getting around 1 million unique monthly visitors then jumped to almost 3 million after the Nov 17 acquisition.

That's incredibly valuable just in itself.

It seems a little overpriced. I'm inclined to say that seller got himself quite a nice deal.
    violet.com sold for $65k
    brown.com sold for $300k
    magenta.com sold for $100k
    blue.com sold for $500k

Not so obvious spelling and pronunciation of the word purple (I mean, compared to green, black, red, etc.). It's not a "major" color, as in green, black, yellow, orange, blue, white. One can name hundreds of things that are blue, white or yellow. Purple things are tricky.

I agree that Blue.com is a much better domain name. However, you're comparing the sale price of Blue.com in 2006. It is now 2018 - 12 years later. Blue.com is going to be worth a good 7 figure amount now.
