Hello

I have finished developing www.PunkTops.com. It is an Amazon.com reseller site for punk clothes and items. You earn up to 10% on all products sold through the site.

The site has an original and 'cool' design. All of the most popular punk bands are listed on the site. The site is very Search Engine Friendly (I added keywords at the top of each page, custom titles for the band pages, and all of this using Overture keyword results). It has been up for about a bit less than a month and it has had 550 uniques. The current page rank is PR3:

I am looking to either sell the site now in the high $xxx range (I am considering best offers).

It does not require a lot of updating and basically runs itself. Domain and hosting are at GoDaddy right now.

Awaiting your offers

Zach

Hi,

you say 550 uniques. Where are they coming from ?

Hey Alex.

Thanks for your interest. I have started establishing link exchanges with other punk clothing sites, and some uniques come from there (this also explains the PR). Others have come from MSN and Google.

It isn't really an auction, but I suppose that I can accept offers from $700.

Thanks

So you have a site that's less than a month old, no traffic to speak of and no revenue? Is that pretty much correct? And you're asking over $700? Please correct me if I've missed anything.

Lux: I do not know whether you know how web development works. It is easy to try to trash any sales thread, as nothing is perfect, and if it was, i doubt that it would be for sale. You clearly have no intention of bidding, and that is your choice, but I ask that you remain respectable and do not categorically list negative aspects of a sale whilst ignoring the benifits and positive aspects.

The way that sales threads work is that if you have a problem with the thread, or a question about the sale, then PM me. What is valuable to you is clearly not what is valuable to someone else, and tastes differ widely. I am not interested in a debate.

I have already listed the benifits of the site, but here it goes again:
original and appropriate design
Targets under-exploited niche market
PR3 (top competing site is only PR5)
easy mantainability and upgrade.
Takes less than 2 hours a year to keep running.
Built to be Search Engine friendly, with keywords matched from Overture and clearly placed in header/title/etc.

I agree with Lux.

Good luck finding someone willing to pay that...

it's a decent name and nice-looking site, but the asking price is high - with no traffic and no revenue

i will offer $25

Thanks for the comments. I have just asked around for an appropriate price on chat.

I am now accepting offers from $300 up.

Wow! Thanks for pointing out the way web development works. I feel so much better now and am not quite sure what I would have done without your brief tutorial.

I actually wasnt trying to trash your 'sales thread' so much as ask you legitamate questions that anybody who has been doing this as long as I have, and there are actually still a few people on this board who do this for a living, would have.

The items you list as 'benefits' are things that wouldn't really mean too much to most buyers as they can be easily and cheaply replicated. Again I'm not trashing you so much as trying to open your eyes to the 'real world'.

Good luck with your sale. I'll certainly be keeping an eye on it.

Lux

PS: Heres's a genuine AWS store that I sold on here a while back http://www.pdaseller.com/ which ended up selling for $210 so it gives you some idea of the marketplace. It was listed on numerous boards and I actually had a good number of bidders.
